We’re always looking for young and enthusiastic native speakers to join our teaching staff.

Who Are We?

Language Institute is a not-for-profit startup that dedicates itself to helping international students and young professionals improve Dutch proficiency within the shortest time at one of the lowest rates found in the Netherlands. We achieve this by using CEFR: Common European Framework of Reference for Languages – It is the globally standardized scale of measuring language proficiency. We offer two levels: Beginners (for people who have never learned Dutch before) and Intermediate. Each class holds a maximum of people. We are located in Rotterdam, the courses take place at Ruivenstraat 81, eight minutes from Rotterdam Central Station.

Who Are We Looking For?

The Language Institute is a young student organization with a lot of ambition: That means as a teacher, you will work with a committed team who will give you the right preparation before you go out and teach our classes. So if you don’t have any teaching experience, don’t worry; we will prepare you in advance. On the other hand, we do expect that you are passionate about teaching Dutch to international people! So you can give us feedback on our program. That is one of the ways we can grow as an organization. We are looking for someone who enjoys teaching Dutch and connect with international people, but also a team member whom we can learn from.

Please note that teaching at Language Institute is not a full-time job but a volunteer position with compensation.

What Can We Offer You?

As volunteer teachers at Language Institute, you are entitled to the following benefits:

  • Volunteer’s allowance
  • Yearly teacherstraining
  • The opportunity to develop/improve your teaching program with the Board
  • A culturally diverse network
  • Year-long library of Rotterdam all-in membership valued at €42

If you fit the requirements and want to become teacher at the Language Institute, please send your CV and a short motivation to
